CASCA D'ANTA WATERFALL (LOW PART)
À 32 km de São Roque de Minas, o acesso à parte baixa é feita por Vargem Bonita, passando pelo Distrito de São José do Barreiro. Principal atração turística do Parque Nacional da Serra da Canastra, é a primeira queda grande do Rio São Francisco e possui 186 metros. Com uma beleza impressionante, é possível avistá-la de um mirante, por uma trilha de fácil acesso, a queda da cachoeira forma várias piscinas naturais ao longo da margem. A trilha de 1,5 km leva até o poço principal da cachoeira onde pode-se ver a queda por completa. Não é aconselhável o banho no poço principal, a queda por ser muito alta, desce com grande força formando ondas, no local encontram-se também pedras muito altas e há uma gende dificuldade em caminhar por entre elas. Nessa área do parque, há uma boa estrutura para recepção dos visitantes, com sanitários, quioesques para descanso e área para piqueniques, e um telefone público na portaria.
At 32 km from São Roque de Minas, access to the lower part followed by Vargem Bonita, passing through the District of São José do Barreiro. Main tourist attraction of the Serra da Canastra National Park, it is the first big waterfall of the São Francisco River at a height of 186 meters. With stunning beauty, it is possible to see it from a lookout point, by an easily accessible trail, the fall of the waterfall forms several natural pools along the shore. The 1.5 km trail leads to the main waterfall well where you can see its beauty close up. It is not advisable to bath in the main well, the fall being very high, descending with great force and forming waves. This particular area has huge stones and it’s extremely difficult to walk between them. There is a good facilities for visitors, reception with toilets, open shelters with tables and seating to rest. Picnics areas to enjoy, and a public telephone at the entrance.
