Extremamente diversificada, sem dúvida uma das maiores atrações do Parque é a sua fauna. Podemos encontrar em sua fauna o emblemático lobo-guará, pato-mergulhão, tamanduá bandeira, veado-campeiro, outros animais que, com um pouco de sorte, os visitantes podem apreciar, são a lontra, o macaco sauá, a onça parda e o tatu-canastra. As áreas de campos e cerrados da Canastra exibem também o cachorro-do-mato, a seriema, a ema, o gavião carcará e o magnífico gavião-caboclo. Mais próximos às matas ciliares e nas fazendas, o show é do mico-estrela, dos quatis, do lindo e imponente urubu-rei, do jacu, do tucano-açu e do canário-da-terra. O lugar conta também com abundante avifauna e numerosas espécies de répteis, anfíbios e peixes. Muitos desses animais encontram-se ameaçados de extinção, necessitando de um grande esforço para a preservação da sua espécie. Sua fauna conta com mais de oitocentas espécies de aves e quase duzentas espécies de mamíferos, números superiores, por exemplo, aos do Pantanal.
Extremely diverse, undoubtedly one of the biggest attractions of the Park is your fauna. We can find in its fauna the emblematic maned-wolf, brazilian merganser, giant anteater, pampas deer, other animals that, with a little luck, the visitors can appreciate the Neotropical Otter, Northern Masked Titi Monkey, puma and the giant armadillo. The Canastra field and enclosed areas also exhibit the Crab-eating Fox, the red legged seriema, the greater rhea, the southern crested caracara and the magnificent savanna hawk. Closer to the riparian woods and on the farms, the show is with the Black-tufted-ear Marmoset, South American Coati, the beautiful and imposing king vulture, the rusty-margined guan, the toco toucan and the saffron finch. The place also has abundant avifauna and numerous species of reptiles, amphibians and fishes. Many of these animals are threatened with extinction, requiring a great effort to preserve their species. Its fauna counts on more than eight hundred species of birds and almost two hundred species of mammals, superior numbers, for example, those of the Pantanal.
